ABOUT PHOENIX STUDIO
Based in St. Petersburg, Florida, Phoenix Studio offers a fresh, innovative and holistic private music experience for motivated artists of ALL ages (yes, adult vocal lessons are a real thing!). All you need to bring is your passion, your favorite songs in any genre, and an open mind.
I teach using the Free Voice Method, a technique I have developed through more than 20 years – and counting – of professional performing, my own training with renowned coaches, and conducting thousands of hours of private music instruction through my internationally-recognized voice school, camps and workshops.
The Free Voice Method combines solid, practical, time-tested foundations in technical vocal skills with strong principles for a healthy mind, healthy body and healthy spirit. I encourage and build my artists to carry themselves with confidence, regardless of their possible past or current frustrations with singing.
To help in fostering the creative process, I also work with my artists on engaging performance techniques, as well as self-accompaniment in piano, guitar, ukulele or bass. For students who are interested, we can work together on songwriting, recording, mixing and/or production.
My studio is founded on the belief is that the “voice” exists on many different levels, and the root of what makes us tick as artists, and as humans, is the ability to learn, create and expand our horizons. The vocal instrument takes the help of the entire body to produce, but quite possibly not in the ways you think, have heard or have been taught in the past.
My goal is to make sure every student, regardless of age, skill, or professional aspiration, leaves my studio loving themselves, music, singing, and life just a little bit more than they did when they walked in. Having better control, range, and vocal tone will be amazing by-products of learning to use your entire instrument the same way it worked the day you were born.
Free your spirit, free your voice, free your Phoenix.
